YAHWEH, and I will rejoicea in him. Yes, I will dance with joy” no matter what, for I have a Savior-God! 19 YAHWEH is the Lord of my strength; he makes my feet sure-footed as a deer bounding upon the high places. These are the lyrics for the conductor of my string ensemble. a 3:18 The Hebrew word for ”rejoice” is ’alaz, which can also be translated ”triumph.” There is a joy full of glory that triumphs over loss. b 3:18 The Hebrew word for ”dance with joy” is gil, which means ”to spin in a circle with joy.” It could be expressed by being so powerfully overtaken with joy that one sings, shouts, and spins, crying out with joyous shrieks, There is an ecstatic joy that can be found in our love relationship with God, for even if all our creature comforts are taken from us, he will never leave us. c 3:19 See Song. 8:14. a 3:19 Or ”musical director” (Hb. menatseach), which comes from a Hebrew root that means ”to conquer.” This is how we fight our battles- with joy in our Savior-God, who always leads us in triumph Isee 2 Cor. 2:14, The Greek Septuagint sees no line break between the last two lines of this verse. It reads ”He will cause me to ride upon the high places so that I might conquer with his song.” Habakkuk 3:19 TPT
